Law Ball - Change in After Party Venue
Written by Sephora Sultana
Saturday, 09 August 2008
The after-party venue for Law Ball 2008 has changed. It will no longer be occurring at the Loft, but rather at BAR 333, which is a lot closer, cheaper and much more fun!
The address is:
333 George St, Sydney
(So literally just across the road!)
So, if you're coming straight to the After-Party (and not attending the Ball), make sure you're at BAR 333 by midnight for all the good times! Note too that your After-Party ticket (if you've already purchased it) is still valid at Bar 333.
Management has warned me that people will not be allowed into BAR 333 if:
* they are too intoxicated
* they do not comply with the dress code i.e. no thongs, shorts or singlets
This is at the discretion of the venue and cannot be avoided by LawSoc.
Also, please bring your proof-of-age ID as being on the guest list will not suffice.
Finally, to clarify:
- there is no need to bring any tickets with you on the night. Your names will be on the required lists and proof of identity is all that will be required
- if you have bought a ticket to the Law Ball, your after-party entry is included and there is no need to buy anything extra.
- if you have not bought a ticket to the after-party, you can come along to Bar 333 but will not have access to a free drink
The annual UNSW Fems Rea Professional Women’s Dinner
Written by Warren Brandt
Monday, 04 August 2008
Do you know what it takes to
succeed as a woman in the legal profession, or how to strategically
map out your legal career? Did you know that only 6 out of 48 judges
in the Supreme Court of NSW are women, and less than 18% of barristers
and 2% of senior barristers are women at the NSW Bar? (Reference: NSW
Bar Association Nov 2006)
The Professional Women's
Dinner provides a unique opportunity to hear from top female legal professionals,
who will be sharing their experiences of being a female legal eagle.
Whether you are in first year or on the verge of graduation, their insight
and advice will be invaluable for your personal journey into the legal
world. The event is subsidised and all are welcome to attend, so come
along and enjoy a five-star evening of guest speakers and food. The
