External Opportunities

The Law Society offers approximately 15 external mooting competitions that vary in skill level, topic of interest and location. Additionally, UNSW Law offers 2-3 external competitions (typically the largest and most prestigious international moots) that are counted as curriculum units and run by the Faculty.

External mooting competitions are an excellent opportunity for students to test the skills they have developed both in class and throughout their participation in internal competitions. These competitions ask students to focus on a single area of the law and develop substantial written and oral submissions for both the appellant and respondent in a hypothetical scenario.

Over the past number of years, UNSW has consistently seen exceptional success in both domestic and international external competitions. All students who are passionate about developing their legal skills are encouraged to apply.
