Treasurer - Geoffrey Zhang

The treasurer has to maintain all the financial records of Lawsoc and regularly inform the club of its financial position. Put more simply, I’m the one watching over all the money. While it gets pretty lonely being the only member of the executive without any directors to work with, I think the role more than makes up for that with being able to see exactly how each activity and initiative run by Lawsoc is facilitated and run, from planning to evaluation, and getting the chance to work closely with all the directors and members of cabinet.

The main role of the Treasurer is to actually reign in spending by the different portfolio heads. Each Vice-President has an enormous amount of brilliant plans and awesome new ideas they want to put in place, but unfortunately even with the support of our amazing sponsors there just isn’t enough funding for every single one of them. My job is to distribute the budget in the most efficient and effective way, so that the value to all law students is maximized, so that our society can further develop and grow into the future, and keep watch over the society as the year goes on.
