LawPLUS Peer Mentoring - From the Coordinators

Nervous about your start to uni? Want to make the most of out it? Not sure how to get to your classroom? Then we can help!

LawPLUS runs as a comprehensive student peer mentoring program designed to assist new students adjust to both general university life and the unique challenges and experiences of Law School. The program is coordinated and run by student volunteers throughout the year and encompasses:

  • Weekly group meetings with friendly, experienced student mentors who possess a wealth of valuable knowledge and advice for maximizing your university experience.
  • Opportunities for interpersonal development and networking with other Law Students.
  • Exciting and exclusive social events (all year)
  • Wide range of skills workshops and presentations (all year)
  • You and a small group of other new law students will be mentored by experienced law students who will assist you in your transition into Law School from high school, workplace or another field of study. LawPLUS provides invaluable opportunities to meet other students outside of class hours in both an intimate social setting and large group environment. The new skills workshops are also specifically designed to help new law students thrive and survive in Law School.

    LawPLUS also operates as an essential weekly portal of information for all first year law students. The Law Society offers a diverse array of career development programs, skills competitions and social functions – stay in the loop and never miss an event!

    LawPLUS aims to make your first year at Law School the best it can be. Students who participate in the program are rewarded with a calendar of social events (free food!) exclusive to LawPLUS mentees. Furthermore, students often walk away with a broadened network of friends, invaluable campus knowledge and a much more fulfilling university experience!

    How do I get involved?

    All first year Law students (undergraduate, transfer and JD) are encouraged to sign up for the LawPLUS program.
